World Vegetable Center (WorldVeg) is a nonprofit, autonomous international agricultural research center with headquarters in Taiwan and regional offices around the globe. The Center conducts research and development programs that contribute to alleviating poverty and malnutrition in the developing world through the increased production and consumption of nutritious and health-promoting vegetables. WorldVeg - Eastern and Southern Africa,located in Arusha, Tanzania, conducts vegetable research and training and provides information services for the benefit of its stakeholders in the horticultural ·sector in Africa. As part of its project 'Vegetable Business Hubs for Youth' funded by the Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the Center is looking for a talented, diligent, ambitious and reliable Tanzanian citizen, who places importance on quality, team-work and diligence for the following positions under the nationally recruited staff (NRS) category.

Responsibilities
Conduct technical training for farmers focusing on vegetable marketing, market analysis, group dynamics and formation, and price negotiationIdentify market niches for new vegetable productsBeing involved in the identification and monitoring of production standardsCoordinate the collection, grading, packing, and delivery of vegetable crops produced by 5-6 different youth groups, ensure timely delivery and take care of all logisticsAnalyze the market.demand for different vegetable crops at local and regional levelSupport groups to develop production plans in order to ensure timely supply of vegetablesCollaborate with CRS and other NGOs and private sector partners to facilitate the dissemination of technologies developed and tested by WorldVegContribute to the project reporting and represent the project on different workshops and other events
Skills, knowledge and qualifications
An Master of Science (MSc) in horticulture, agriculture, agribusiness or equivalent from an institution accredited by the Tanzania Commission of UniversitiesA minimum of five years of experience in horticultural production and marketing within an international environment, preferably an international non-governmental organization (NGO) or an international private sector company, is highly preferred.Excellent computer skills in MS office applications · (Word, Excel, Power point, Access)Fluency in English and Kiswahili (spoken and written)Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with partners and colleagues in a multicultural setting=============
